Closing Up 2016

This year we had help from so many people and things moved so fast, we didn't have time to keep track of them all, but trust that many people made this possible and we are so grateful to all of them. Check out our team page for some of the names that put this together this year.

Now, let's wrap things up!

Characters Slain
Dusk Patrol, 17
Moonwatch, 6
Sunguard, 5

Total, 28

Longest streak: 17:30, Ashling the Halfling Monk played by Myriah Wood. Our longest record ever by far! It will take some doing to dethrone her.

and of course,
$3,725 raised for the Children's Miracle Network. Way, way higher than our goal!

We improved on much this year, and still learned a lot for next year, so stay tuned in 2017 for more info!

Of Boonery and Banery

We're pleased to reveal the tables for this year's Boons and Banes—check them out! This year for the Banes, there's fewer monsters and more pain. Monsters tend to bog things down, so we've made sure the tables this year are full of quick, nasty surprises for our players so the game keeps moving. Boons have also been streamlined to keep up momentum, and most of the helpful creatures or companions have been removed—excepting of course Wayne, our hallowed flumph friend.

Also this year, we wanted to smooth out the probability curve, so we've changed the dice that are rolled to correspond to the Tier that is available so Tier 1 gets a d10, Tier 2 gets a d20, Tier 3 gets a d30, Tier 4 gets 2d20 (d40s being sadly a rarity), and Tier 5 gets a d50. Hopefully this gives us some nice variety in our rolls.

We hope you'll take advantage of all these options to keep our players on their toes!

Extra Life Day and Adopt-a-Trap!

Today is Extra Life Day! We'd like to salute all our fellow gamers who are today gaming for 24 hours to raise money For The Kids. Our event is not, of course, until December. However, we would like to take this day to open up once again our Adopt-a-Trap program!

Are you a nefarious Dungeon Master who has all sorts of vicious and lethal traps up your sleeve? Perhaps you've made a whole binder full of them? Perhaps you delight in the look on a player's face when you tell them what creative new way you have devised for their character to die? Or maybe you just like reading a lot of Grimtooth's?

If you answered yes to any of those, I bet more often than not, your players complain, or tell you to take it easy, or say dying all the time "isn't fun." What do they know.

Well we have an offer for you! Here at Dungeons & Donations, creative lethality is highly encouraged! Donate $25 towards our goal and we'll let you put a trap in our game! It can be as crazy, convoluted, lethal, or in any other manner superfluous as you desire!

When the players come to the realization that their characters are well and truly (and thoroughly) dead, as we wipe their remains from the floor, we'll tell them just whose machinations brought about their untimely demise. We'll give you credit on our live broadcast!

If you'd like to participate, go to our Extra Life page and click "Donate", and choose the $25 donation option. In your message, be sure to include that this is for Adopt-a-Trap. Don't donate anonymously or we won't be able to verify your donation. Finally, send us an email with the subject "Adopt-a-Trap". We'll be in touch to get your trap details.

We'll be closing new entries on November 18th so be sure to get your donations in by then. We look forward to seeing what devious creations you all dream up!

We are very excited to announce our third year of Dungeons & Donations, starting at 6pm EST on December 9th! This year's theme is the Terror of Tamoachan and we'll be featuring the classic module The Hidden Shrine of Tamoachan. We hope it will prove most deadly! We have lots of awesome things planned to make this year's event even better, so stay tuned for updates.
